My reading pace has been pretty hot this year, but it slowed down dramatically with An Echo in the Bone by Diana Gabaldon. This is the seventh book in the Outlander series and each book is incredibly long! This book was 1100+ pages, so it took awhile for me to read.
The seventh book continues the story of Jaime, Claire, Roger, Bree, and Young Ian as they navigate their lives in different places and different times. Much happens in this book, which is good considering the 1100+ page length. I won't give too much away, but this book has the death of a beloved character, or at least a character I enjoyed.
Although there is some time travel in this book, it's not really a science fiction or fantasy book by any means. It's a fictional story that might fit best in the historical fiction genre. Much of this book took place during the Revolutionary War.
