This Friday's in This Blog's History brings back the Lava in a Cup experiment. This is another classic density experiment that uses material that you likely already have in your kitchen. Most of us are familiar with a lava lamp and this experiment produces something similar. Blobs of material rise when they are less dense than the surrounding material and sink when they are more dense than the surrounding material.
